He bent his legs and brought them to his breast
He sat with folded arms around his legs
In foetal style remembering how blessed
He was with Fortune's best and not her dregs

He rocked his body slowly to and fro
His fragile mind remembered happy times
Ah but that was a long, long time ago
And now he sits and rocks and sadly pines

He quickens rocking, rocking to and fro
And sobs escape his mouth to surf the air
Remembering how happiness would flow
He rocks as if he were a rocking chair

He rocks to comfort body soul and mind
And grieves for lives and loves he left behind
