He is, to tell the truth, an ugly man
He is so old with wrinkled skin and warts
He has been so since his old age began
And yet it's said that there exist reports
That women swooned when he was very young
But now his back is hunched, his sight is dim
Yet he remembers how his heart was stung
By love, a love so bright it dazzled him
He is, if truth be told, a wizened man
A little like a hag in Shakespeare's play
A child who saw his face was scared and ran
She ran as fast as she could, ran away
And when he saw this fear; this upset girl
His eye produced a tear; a dewy pearl
