Grateful for each day I awake
Seeing the sun up in the sky
Knowing I am truly blessed
Feeling good in my heart … I cry

Thinking back to my childhood
Some of the dreams I had have died
Disappointed, I feel incomplete
Deep within my soul again… I cry

Alone day and night
Decisions I make are all mine
An empty space fills my heart
Looking for answers again … I cry

Only imagining being in love
Being the apple of his eye
An invisible touch is what I feel
As I lie in my bed … I cry

Living life on the edge
I wonder how unapproachable am I
Will I ever be fortunate to find him
Thinking of the possibility … I cry

Looking out the window
At a dreary, cloudy sky
Only God understands me
Thankful for his goodness again … I cry
