Electric vehicles are going to be cheap in Maharashtra as the State Government aims to have 10 percent of the vehicles registered in Maharashtra should be electric by the year 2025. Road tax will also be exempted and incentives will also be available on buying an electric vehicle. Keeping in mind the objective of reducing pollution, Environment Minister Aaditya Thackeray said that from April 2022 all the vehicles purchased or leased in major cities will be electric. The government also aims to electrify public transport by 25 percent in cities like Mumbai, Aurangabad, Pune, Nagpur, and Nashik. Aditya Thackeray told that the government is also working on charging stations, the government has a plan to set up 1500 charging stations in Mumbai. Watch this video.
