Eleanor J. Scribner - Ode To Debby
3 Views • Nov 07, 2014
Description
hair, running along the shore
A lone seagull makes his call and
can see you wading there
The silent, sifting sands between bare toes
The echo of your voice upon a tide
that comes and goes
A dream of yesterday
With bowed heads we see your
footprints waiting for
the changing tide
We hear your voice echoing
over the sands of time
"Can only seagulls cry?"
I call into the wind hello,
I love you very much,
The wind answers I love you dearly, too
Love never said goodbye
