Eldritch Mungo - Two Ships

Two sailing ships at sea
tacking and gybing in a graceful aquatic ballet,
sailing around the isles
and mooring in far away tranquil sounds.
When the winds dropped
we spliced our lines together
and drifted free and easy,
dreamed of endless horizons
and new destinations to reach together.
But now we are like two ships in the fog
keeping careful distance, mournful clang of bell
or distant creaking of weary rigging
the only indication that you are still near.
Sometimes fleeting glance of your form through the mist
then like a whisp of smoke you fade away.
Oh for this never ending fog to lift
that we may sail together again.
