Elaine Eatsbabies - The Storm

i was running for so long
i was running from the storm
i knew that it was coming
i knew i couldn't run forever
i knew i had to stop
i was getting tired
so so tired.

No, i didn't like running
but it was the only way
i could find to avoid the storm.

and i knew
the moment i stopped
i'd be overtaken
by the storm.

it was coming
it was coming fast
i couldn't out run it any more
and i was tired
so so tired
i stopped.

i knew it was coming
it was hard to avoid
but still
i was so surprised and so unprepared
for when my world came crashing down.

Now i am standing in my rubble
of broken dream, friendships and promises
and all that is left for me to do
is pick up the pieces
one by one
and start all over again.
