For a hundred years we have slept
Devoid of heart and soul
And for a hundred more, we have wept
As life took its bitter toll

But life is a road, and we, the travelers
Life is a ship, and we, the captains
Sadness a beast, and we, its masters
With hope, rout shall not happen

Yes, you can take our pride and freedom
You can take our loves and lives
But through it all, hope reigns on
Hope sees through all your lies

Hope bows not to lord or king
Nor kneels before the idol cross
Hope knows not of sorrow’s sting
Nor of race, nor of age, nor of loss

Hope is the force that drives us on
Hope is our battle cry
Hope is what will bring us home
Hope will never die
