Edwina Reizer - Sonnet #2

Oh that thou could understand my love?
Thou wouldst know what I'm made of.
I'm made of bones and sinew in part.
But mostly I am made of heart.
And this part is warm in its search
and filled with promise to leap then lurch
as it sways in the direction
of where you dwell.
For in your absence my heart's in hell.

There was never a time when I did breathe
the sweetened air that does bequeath
a mountainous amount of love for you.
It seems that it is all I can do.
I luxuriate in my thoughts that come
right out of nowhere or where they're from.
And thus, my love if you understand
is not important. I make no demand
upon your life or even your soul.
For to have loved you makes me feel I'm whole.
