Edwina Reizer - ODDITIES

We know simply
by the grace of God
humanity continues
with most of us odd.
The humor of God
amuses me so
as I watch the oddities
come and go.

Each one is so different
and yet the same.
And what is the reason
is God to blame?
He gave us the mold
which none of us fit.
We try to fit into it
bit by bit.

It's a task so humorous.
It's beyond belief.
For our short trip through life
is much too brief.
We try to conform
but most of us fail.
And the insignificant differences
really just pale.

We've a life to live
and so much to give
that the oddities we've developed
we must forgive.
God's humor is ours.
It's part of his plan
to bypass the oddities
and do what we can
to laugh.
