Edward Wright Haile - A Bedtime Story
3 Views • Nov 07, 2014
Description
said a little girl at the whip end of the last one
on her skates letting go to go palms into a very soft night
and so I swung one and all once again
this time into a tale of hiding in the leaves from raindrops
of a widower who made peace with birds and such
and then of some long life building a farm on a mountain
until I heard all four breathings
rose returned peered out at a rumbling shower
and said good night to the mountain
