Three thousand years ago
Days in star-fire shining
Temples built within young minds
And worshipped sun-gods
Brought upon them ruin

Glazed eyes remain
His faded glory
Fluorescent ceremonies
In a world apart

Hidden doors
She cannot enter
Dreams reflecting evil rays
Of alone-night fear
She screams lonely
Let me be

Within her temple (not yet
toppled though old tears
have eroded gullies
in its stony face)
Ceremonial star-fires
Glow well into night

Remembrance fuels
A flame of fear
Her blazing eyes widen
As drafty sorrows
Spell shadows on the wall
