e.e. wilholt - Great Lake Mother
55 Views • Nov 08, 2014
Description
I’m a gold-haired
Child giantess
Wading in the big lake pond.
Half-moons of green and brown
Stare up at me through
Still water. I reach
Down to pluck them from a white sky.
The beach unfolds lengths of shimmer
Fabric; sands dance in joy
To the sun, golden
Granules and infinitesimal
Gem-bits.
I have come early. The young
Day is yet calm. Later,
Wavelets will tease small
Laughing feet playing tag.
I will swim my girl-fish
Dreams, my wishing
Sink into the wide, shining blue
Lap that nurtures me.
