**

Blinding darkness of a cave
Hurts anger-ridden eyes.
Rue the fall, a desperate tumble—
Into its deepest recesses, unwittingly stumble.

Hate those mazing, twisting cavern tunnels,
Closed to eyes and ears and minds.
A mind, a cave—
Hate it with a fear held
For the rest of that pitiful being.
Hate the dark, dark corners where one
Loses himself cold—
And never, never recovers.

Blinding darkness of a sorry cave
Hurts one’s anger eyes.
Rue the deep fall, the desperate tumble downward
To its deepest recess.
Hate those mazing, twisting cavern tunnels
Closed to eyes and ears, but mostly
To minds.

A mind, a frightful cave with scars and folds;
Hate it with a fear one holds
For the rest of that
Pitiful being.
Hate the dark, dark corners where one
Loses himself cold—
And never, never recovers.
Hate it deeply, darkly, haughtily, selfishly—
Angrily.
But never let it turn against me.
