Description

At just 13 years old, Nick LeGrande made Major League Baseball history. Like many before him, Nick threw out the ceremonial first pitch before an Oakland A's home game. But the pitch did not travel the standard 60 feet 6 inches; instead Nick was 1800 miles away, battling for his life.Severe aplastic anemia, rare blood disorder, had decimated Nick’s immune system and prevented him from being in crowds. So while he pitched from an artificial mound near his hospital in Kansas City, a robotic arm in Oakland delivered the virtual first pitch on his behalf. The groundbreaking technological accomplishment made national news, but for Nick it was only the beginning. And that’s where our story starts. Over the next year Chris Connelly and E:60 followed Nick, his search for a cure and a way back to the game he loves. Tuesday, August 18th, 8pm ET
