its Autumn

sunshine
lightly & as delicately

as Time-now
& Time-gone

exists
in the same moment

that the leaves
(in slow motion)

fall from trees.

Birdsong & Dutch
laughter

stitching together
a tapestry of voices

even the houses
have their say

as we
held in Time's

strange discourse

listen closely
with every atom

of our
being

as the day
fades into night

& lights
(and the reflection)
of lights

lose themselves
in the stillness

of canal
& canals

footfall
...footfalls.
