Here, upon this
Boulevard
we kiss
hand in hand

(our laughter
encapsulating us)
as the click
of a camera does

And we become
the passing photograph
of a tourist
other than us

& his keen eye
that sees not us
but all the lovers
who ever there were
who sat: thus
and of which we are just

the new representatives
a series of lovers
stretching back

in a long line of perspective
through time
each different – each the same
turning into a typical
Parisian scene
a pastiche postcard
it would almost seem
“The Kiss Of The Laughing Lovers... Boulevard Saint-Germain.”
