of a match struck
in total darkness
& your face
flaring up
before fading out
startled the little 'Ouch! '
as it burnt the tips of your fingers
following the red glow
as it danced
from your mouth
& swayed away
from your mouth

until it vanished
with a last gasp
the only thing visible
now
in this
big dark world
the sound of your sobbing.
