Well, she walked up to me
& she asked me
(nicely)

if I “...was
dancing? ”

And I grinned:
“Why, are ya asking...? ”

And she smiled:

“Well, actually
my name is Miss Asking! ”

“No? ”
“Yes! ”

“Nooooo...? ”
“...Yesssss! ”

She almost purred.
She was perfect.

I was the cat who got the cream!

Me! How?
(don’t ask!)

“Ask me some more! ”
I whispered to her

as we tangoed
across our dreams


and realised that the shortest distance between two people is a
