Tick tock, tick tock
the track never stops
in the mechanism that is my brain
remember this
remember that
the ginger cat is on the mat
yet again i have missed my train

scrawlings on my hand
time for the airplane to land
in case I forget the information
read the same thing 3 times
maybe 4 or 5 lines
simply fueling idol procrastination
fixation or clarity?
displays of public vulgarity
leaves you outside of people and the norm
toy cars and toy soldiers
fools with guns in their holsters
spreading an incessant silver storm

knowledge of today
has to be knowledge of tomorrow
imagine an army of the discerning
sitting children on stools
establishing a system of rules
doesn't really sound like learning
'its the way the world is spun
'don't let it worry you son
focus on work you're set
so you can get your degree
and be happy you see'
which to me sounds like a threat

STOP ten nine eight
to what will it equate?
am I mad or simply concerned?
Are we all a little bit crazy?
is this why I'm lazy?
Does sanity have to be earned?
Now I'm back at at square one
hating the chicken run
knowing outside the grass is greener
three taps and a cough
now shutting off,
my private misdemeanour

with the whole house asleep
me and mary can greet
and the clocks can all stop ticking
see Im free from my brain
and can catch my train
ceasing all unwelcome thinking
