Joe introduces and explains how to use the Duratech wall thimble in a thru-the-wall chimney installation.

Any time that you are going to vent your DuraTech chimney system by passing through an exterior wall of your home you will use the wall thimble to transition from your stove pipe to your class A chimney pipe.

The DuraTech Wall Thimble is installed in the exterior wall that you will be passing through and is adjustable to work with various wall thicknesses,varying from a minimum of 4" thick to a maximum of 10" and will fit between standard wall studs. The telescoping pieces can be separated, and a field-fabricated extension installed to accommodate thicker walls up to 16".

The interior trim ring is painted black. The Thimble must be installed with DuraTech chimney pipe coming horizontally through the wall and extending 6" into the room beyond the interior wall.

Your stove pipe will connect to the chimney pipe with a DuraTech finishing collar, sold separately, allowing the secure transition from stove pipe to your class a Duratech chimney pipe.

It is important that you never run your stove pipe through any type of combustible material, including walls.
