Dubai's debt burden

After crashing at the height of the financial crisis, Dubai's real estate sector is staging a sustained recovery by refocusing on trade, tourism and transportation. However, victims of the property bubble remain, shedding an uncomfortable light on the city's legal system. The FT's Simeon Kerr talks to a Briton imprisoned for the past two-and-a-half years for bouncing cheques, even though he says he had cleared the dues the cheques underwrote.
