A-Apocalypse
when with exquisite precision
an unseen force
fired every gun
exploded every bomb
released every missile
expended all ammunition,
saturating the air and sea
with death and destruction.
Down upon the noxious species
came a volcanic furor.
A cacophony beyond measure.
When done
there was no one
to record the folly.
Deep deep in the wood
the Hermit Thrush
still sings
never to be heard
by human ear.
