DTI INSPECTS PRICES OF BASIC GOODS

Officials of the Department of Trade and Industry, led by DTI-CPG Undersecretary Ruth Castelo, inspect prices of canned goods and other food items as they conduct Special Price and Supply Monitoring of Basic Necessities and Prime Commodities at a supermarket in Quezon City on Sept. 8, 2021. Headline inflation, the rate of increase in the price index of the basket of goods and services, soared to 4.9% in August from 4% in July. It also breached the 4.4% market consensus for the period.
