Driver saved after falling rock smashes digger

Footage has emerged from China of firefighters saving a man trapped in a digger that was destroyed by a falling rock.

In the video, filmed during the rescue at a stone pit in Guangxi region on Tuesday, rescuers work to remove the stone from the cab while the man is attached with two IV drips. They then cut open the frame to pull him out and take him away on a stretcher.

According to local news, the man was working in a digger in the pit when the loose rock suddenly fell down the mountain and hit the vehicle. He has reportedly survived the accident and is hospitalised currently.
