Driver kills two in Kiryat Yam

Two female pedestrians in their 50s were killed as a car ploughed into them on the sidewalk of a busy main road in the town of Kiryat Yam. Eyes witnesses to the accident told police that the driver of the car fled the scene leaving behind his girlfriend injured in the passenger seat. Magen David Adom were first alerted to the accident at 11 o'clock after a call to say that two female pedestrians had been injured on the busy Jersualem Boulevard in Kiyat Yam. The paramedic team that answered the call pronounced the two women dead on the scene. Initial investigations by police have said the driver of the car is known to them from previous offences, adding it seems that the car had driven through a red light before hitting the two women.
