Dragon Fire - I wonder why

I wonder why you told me goodbye
You broke my heart you made me cry
I screamed your name on that stormy night
But still you walked away from my light
I thought we would always be together
But just like that you walked away and were gone forever

I thought you loved me I thought you cared
I thought we were the perfect pair
You left me with darkness you left me in the cold
I just wanted to feel your tight hold
As you walked away I cried
And inside i slowly died

Now I know you couldn't take
All those promises I would break
Now I know the feel of your pain
As i walk silently in the deadly rain
I understand why we must part
I wonder why I broke your heart
