Dr John Celes - Sonnet: Love

Love is what that made the Maker make man,
The world, the things in it, so that he can
Get to know His love through those things he made,
And conform to His tenets which He bade.

Love is that which makes man better than beasts
To participate in His divine feast;
Human love excels any in this world,
But cannot be better than that of God’s.

Love originates from the mind and heart
Of men, forming an inalienable part;
It is of many types and various hues
Of such complex nature, none can review.

Divine love is more than Ocean or sea;
The Creator’s ultimate mystic key.
