When rain clouds, cover the sky
when rain falls, and babies cry
when rain makes, you discover yourself

when rain clouds, block out the light
when rain falls, onto your life
when rain makes, the tears you cry
invisible

when darkness consumes all
when your life has hit the wall
when the storm is at it's worst
at it's worst

lightning hits the ground
making a thunderous sound
the whole sky filled with light
making everything feel right
tonight

but the lightning will not last
suddenly it has become the past
what if lightning would last
forever

lighting up the sky
rain or shine
day or night
no darkness
just light
