Dorothy Pugin - Dunstable Downs

Description
on complaining bicycles
Children run miracles
As upturned faces urge their kites to fly
And feet just miss the rabbit’s holes
People get their fat white bits out
and Unattractive men
take off their clothes
Proud of their bare flesh
And some of Dunstable's hairiest chests
Serious walkers with their serious faces
Walk a no-nonsense line through the picnic blankets
Rainbow kites unwittingly
Fly the gay flag
They seem skittish today
Dodging the surly winds
Balls break free
Heading for runaway slopes
The unruly dog people
Are embarrassed
The well behaved
Smug Dog people
smile at each other
Parents close eyes and pray
As frisbees skim strangers’ heads
