Dominic Grieve explains reasons for amendment
Description
Dominic Grieve MP has sought to explain why he is leading an amendment in Parliament in a bid to prevent a no-deal Brexit. The former Attorney General said that, should the government's motion be defeated next week, the amendment would "initiate the dialogue we desperately need between government and Parliament as to how to take this forward." The amendment, which is backed by several Conservatives, would force the Prime Minister to come back to Parliament after three sitting days if she loses next Tuesday's meaningful vote, rather than the current 21 days.
