Welcome to Doglopedia, the best video dog encyclopedia on the internet. This is your resource to learn all about different breeds! Here's a quick, fun overview of Newfoundlands, hosted by ME, the Newfoundland. That's right, this time I get to train you! Happy petting!
Newfoundland Facts
Lifespan: 8 - 10 years
Height: 26 - 28 inches
Weight: 100 - 200 pounds
Although we're large, we're not very active and will do well in an apartment or small yard as long as there is plenty of shade and water available during the summer months. We're loyal, trustworthy, calm and patient so we're great companions for kids despite our size. As for training, we're smart and strong which makes it slightly difficult, so please be firm and calm during our training sessions.
Newfoundland Fun Facts
- Our lineage goes back so far that our history is uncertain.
- We love to swim and have webbed feet and a water resistant double coat that support our favorite pastime.
- We're a working dog and have been used to pull carts and save people who were shipwrecked.
