The pristine Ningaloo reef off Exmouth has been moved to the highest alert level for coral bleaching, as unusually warm ocean water moves down the West Australian coast from the Pilbara. It follows severe bleaching at the Great Barrier Reef earlier this month, making researchers, Exmouth locals and tourism operators even more anxious.
