We turned a corner of our small but charismatic office into a mini-club and called it The Lab. Every Friday afternoon the world's best DJs pop by, we get smashed and you get to watch it all on our YouTube channel Mixmag TV. This week we have none other than DJ Hell.

DJ Hell is one of the most enigmatic, forward thinking and unique electronic music artists in the world. As well as being an important part of the acid house movement, his International Deejay Gigolos label has been responsible for many of the greatest electro and techno tracks of all time. Artists like The Hacker, Miss Kitten, Justice, Jeff Mills, Phil Kieran and Sei A are some of the many names that have released on the imprint that often has heavy synth pop and dark disco influences.

DJ Hell's own productions range from brooding machine music to twisted house -- never predictable, always interesting and unique. He has recently dug deep into his record collection to mix 'Kern 2' for Tresor records -- expect early house and techno fusing with New Wave and modern gems.

Hell's ethos is influenced from his keen involvement in art, fashion and film: Gigolo's 100th release was limited edition ladies underwear made by Agent Provocateur and he always involved in Berlin Fashion Week. Check out all of Hell's recent exploits in his newsletter here
