Distant Miki - A Distant Memory for the Guilty

The smile you showed as we were together
I took it for granted-
Why would I care for a stupid kid?
Although we about were the same age
I felt as if we were eons apart

I always ran away as you chased me
Forever declaring my disdain of you.

Did I hurt you as I ran away?
I reached out, although rejecting
To the you that never left me
But once.

If you hadn’t left, would we have been friends?
In the end I never said a thing

Those words you whispered in my ear-
They are already a distant part of my memories.


(I wrote this more to remember someone- but I keep changing it because something feels off about it. Kudos to who ever can figure it out. Also, I didn't intend for the title to be so similar to my name, but I can't bring myself to change it :)
