In 2012, Disney raised eyebrows when it bought Lucasfilms for $4 billion.
Most industry insiders thought Disney was out of it's mind for paying so much for Lucasfilms.
The numbers are in and the deal has paid off for Disney.
The total box office total of Disney's three Star Wars films has now surpassed that $4 billion price tag.
The movies have grossed over $4.06 billion at the global box office.
DVD, On Demand, Blu-Ray, TV, and Streaming Rights are not included in that figure.
That figure does not take into account all of the merchandise that has been sold from 2012 to today.
