Description
Yusuf Turan is a teacher who visited Nuremberg as part of a European school project. We met up with him for a stroll through the medieval city centre. Yusuf headed for the city’s landmark castle, which offers a fantastic view of the city. He was very impressed with the mix of historical and modern architecture. In the old city centre Yusuf pauses outside the Albrecht Dürer Museum. This is where the artist once lived and worked. Yusuf Turan is thrilled with the city’s medieval flair and the many half timbered houses.
Then he heads for the city’s toy museum with an electric toy railway in the courtyard. The day comes to a close with a stroll across the main market square with its fountain in the shape of a pyramid.
On weekdays the square is home to a fruit and vegetable market and is also the venue for several annual festivals as well as Germany’s largest flea market and last but not least the world famous Christmas market.
