Dipping process instantly transforms metal jewelry

Anodizing is an electrochemical process some jewelers use to change the color of metals such as titanium, aluminum, and niobium. Dipping a reactive metal into a “bath” mixture of low-sudsing detergent attached to an anodizing power supply instantly changes the colors of metals. Chainmaille artists prefer to use titanium for their work because the soft metal bends more easily than niobium, and a wide range of colors can be achieved by anodizing.
