Digestion System

The digestive system breaks down food into nutrients that the body uses for energy, growth, and repair, and then removes waste. It is a long, twisting tube called the gastrointestinal (GI) tract, which includes the mouth, esophagus, stomach, small intestine, large intestine, rectum, and anus. It also involves accessory organs like the liver, pancreas, and gallbladder, which aid in the process.
