1. Steel

The most common and traditional strapping materials used in the tying process is the steel. The steel normally used to bale the heavy and big bales due to its high rigidity. The steel can be used in semi-automatic horizontal baler, fully automatic horizontal baler, or some large vertical balers. The only disadvantage of the steel is the price, it will cost a lot to constantly use the steel as the strapping material.

2. Plastic strap

There are two typical used plastic strap one is the PP strap and the other is the PET strap, the most difference between these two types of plastic straps is the rigidity. The PET straps are stronger than the PP straps which means the PET straps can be used for some medium weight bales while the PP straps can only be used for light bales tying. So, the plastic straps are usually used in small and medium sized vertical balers.
