Description

She walks slightly ahead of me.
Her pace is deliberately slow.
She turns to face me,
To voice her goodbye.
Her eyes direct me
to her reaching hand,
And I take it,
As she wishes.

I let go.
I must.

She boards the train.
I follow her with my eyes,
And I walk with her.
I see her to her seat.
It is always next to a window,
where I can see her settled,
safe.

The train takes her from me.
But my feet move with the train
As she quietly escapes me
With pensive eyes fixed upon mine.
And just before disappearing,
She extends her hand,
And places it on the window.

Her hand on that window,
It is all I can see now.
And my feet still move with that train
Faster with each passing day,
As I chase harder
For my love,
For my past.
