Dia Chatterjee - Unwanted
2 Views • Nov 07, 2014
Description
It was not a dream that woke me
It was the reality.
The stars had been discarded by the transitional sky
The moon hung wasted in a corner
About to be rejected.
I looked out at the streets and they were very quiet
The ghostly neon signboards lay ashen
Unused at that hour.
The windows in my room complimented the silent canvas
They slept unmoving against the breeze
As if shuttered.
I looked at my bed & it did not spread welcoming arms
The wrinkled sheets smirked grotesquely
I was unwanted.
