Korean researchers have successfully demonstrated an innovative technology in which devices located close to one another directly communicate without going through base stations for the first time in the world. Devices directly communicate by spotting one another within a 1km radius based on LTE. This has enhanced communications speed and security. It can even resolve the problem of sharply rising traffic for base stations. We will check out the device-to-device (D2D) technology that has risen as the core next generation mobile communications technology.
