Designing storage infrastructure for cloud applications provides different challenges than designing storage for a data center. You can't anticipate how your cloud infracstructure will actually be used until you see what applications are being deployed. You have to plan for multi-tenancy to prevent each new service from impacting existing services. As cloud applications are terminated, you need to effectively recapture storage and return it to the resource pool.
