it was my friend and not me
of this news
it just can't be
i am the shoulder
of support
but not a member of the team
a negative for the positive side
a bandage for the wounded heart
hang in there friend
for i am here
to help you work
through your fear
wish i could shield you from your grief
but i can be there
in your time of need
and of the burden
you are freed
lean on me
in weaker times
when you are tired
I’ll make sure you
take those meds
when you feel weary and feed up
look to me as support instead
for i realize this happens to you
and not me
