In jeder Beziehung geradezu historisch: die Ausstellung „Der Drache im Osten und Westen“ in dem über 1000-jährigen Schloss Rochlitz im Muldental. Künstler aus Deutschland und China reflektieren ihre Ideen zur kulturhistorisch völlig unterschiedlich geprägten Figur des Drachen. Auf einen kurzen Nenner gebracht, liegt die Spannung im kulturellen Gegensatz des Themas Drache, der im Osten als Glücksbringer und Wohltäter steht, während er im Westen als Symbol der bösen Mächte gilt. Ausführliche Hintergründe beleuchten die Figur des Drachen im Osten und Westen, die Ausstellung insgesamt, sowie die Künstler mit ihrem Spaß an der Sache. Prädikat: sinnvoll.
Nachsatz: einige Szenen wurden in der damals gerade aufkommenden Videotechnik per Handy aufgenommen, auch ein Stück Nostalgie. Wie enorm schnell sich die Technik entwickelt hat…!
Almost historical in every respect: the exhibition "The Dragon in the East and West" in the over 1000-year-old Rochlitz Castle in the Mulde Valley. Artists from Germany and China reflect on their ideas about the figure of the dragon, which has been shaped in completely different ways from a cultural-historical point of view. In a nutshell, the tension lies in the cultural contrast between the theme of the dragon, which is a lucky charm and benefactor in the East and a symbol of the evil powers in the West. Detailed backgrounds illuminate the figure of the dragon in the East and West, the exhibition as a whole, and the artists with their fun in the matter. Rating: meaningful.
Postscript: some scenes were recorded via mobile phone in the video technology that was just emerging at that time, also a piece of nostalgia. How fast the technology developed...!
