Hey Muse, here we go again, in that dance that goes
Round the fire of Truth,
Searing our fingertips,
Licking hot our toes.

Hey Muse, others run from fires,
But we do our ancient dance—
Hoping for some heat,
Before this flame of life expires.

Hey Muse, dance me in poetic fashion,
‘Till Truth consumes me,
And our faces burn
With our special passion.

Muse, hold close the Earth,
Burn away illusion,
Let Truth astound us,
Amid the ashes of confusion.

Yes, I love you Muse,
For you’ve taken me to the fire,
And danced poems with me
Around the flames that can inspire.
