Description
What would it have been like Lord, to have
been able to walk with your son
Would I have been wise enough to know
that he, your son, was your chosen one
Would I have been able to tell your son
from the devil himself
Or would I have been blind and not seen
past the pride in myself
Would I have been there that day
at the top of the hill
and known in my heart his blood
for us you did spill
Would I have been able to stand
there at his feet
and been able to keep looking
when our eyes did meet
Would I have been able to feel
the glory of your love
When he asked for our forgiveness
from you, his father above
The answer is yes Dear Lord, I would
have been there that day
If you the father, would have allowed
I would have taken his pain away
