Denis Martindale - Cold Stare
2 Views • Jun 18, 2014
Description
When snow falls from the skies,
But they aren't prone to make a fuss,
Like we do, full of sighs...
They sadly sit and simply stare,
Sourpusses to the end!
As if too late to show they care
Or somehow to defend...
They don't build snowmen, like we do,
With Christmas in our thoughts,
Each Winter, they must battle through,
As they feel out of sorts...
They don't wear booties crushing snow,
They don't wear scarves and smile...
They don't wear gloves when on the go,
They simply use their guile...
Preventing times when they feel weak,
Perchance more life to give,
The family is all they seek,
To help each other live...
Cold stares are all they share today,
With feet that feel so numb
And knowing more snow's on its way
Means there's much worse to come...
