Demystifying the UX toolbox: creating an effective framework (Stephanie Troeth)</a>

When companies or organisations embrace User Experience (UX) and its tools, such as personas and wireframing, inevitably these activities become over-formalized into a process that favours easy costing and planning without necessarily putting the problem into context. It is easier to focus on the list of deliverables than to take time to understand what's the best solution at any given time.

Which UX skills do we need for a particular type of project? When is a functional specification necessary? When can you blackboard a sketch -- and everything that's possible in between: wireframes, paper prototypes, interactive prototypes? Which user research methods are appropriate?

Together, we will look at the UX design toolset and evaluation methods so you can start building your own framework that works for your context.
